Why Locals Trust Sunstopper Blinds & Awnings

Sunstopper Blinds and Awnings is now proudly owned by Alex Garden and Amy Munday, long time Dubbo locals who bring the same friendly and down to earth service the business has always been known for. Alex and Amy took over in 2025 and continue the strong commitment to quality that Phil and Cathie White established during their years at the helm. Here is what sets Sunstopper apart:

For us, it’s not just about selling blinds, it’s about helping you feel proud of your space.

About us

From first quote to final install, our team is known for friendly service, expert advice and care that goes beyond the job. Here’s what locals are saying.

What Locals Ask Us Most

Got questions about our products, service or process? Here are the most common things we get asked from Central West residents just like you:
Are your products made in Australia?

Wherever possible, we support Australian-made manufacturers for our blinds, awnings and shutters. We believe in local quality and reducing wait times, so you can trust that your investment is built to last and built close to home.

We proudly serve Dubbo, Orange, Mudgee, and a wide range of surrounding Central West communities. This includes Bourke, Brewarrina, Cobar, Coonabarabran, Coonamble, Dunedoo, Gilgandra, Lightning Ridge, Narromine, Parkes, Peak Hill, Tomingley, Trangie, Wellington and Yeoval. Whether you’re in town or out in the bush, we’re committed to delivering the same high-quality service wherever you are.

We do! Unlike some companies that outsource, all our installations are handled in-house by experienced team members. That means no strangers or no shortcuts. You can expect local service you can rely on, every step of the way.

Alex Garden – Owner

Meet Alex Garden, the owner of Sunstopper Blinds Dubbo and the type of bloke who genuinely believes everything is doable. Before running Sunstopper, Alex worked in maintenance before starting his own business offering pest control and handyman services. He’s hands on, practical and has a knack for figuring things out even when they don’t come with instructions.

Alex is a qualified pest management technician, but more than that, he’s the kind of guy who rolls up his sleeves first and talks about it later. Whether it’s building something from scratch or fixing what others have given up on, he’s right at home with tools in his hands and a challenge in front of him.

When he’s not helping customers or running the business, Alex loves spending time with his daughter and getting stuck into projects that let him build, repair or create. If it involves timber, tools or tinkering, he’s in his element.

Alex was born on 8th February, which makes him an Aquarius, the sign known for problem solving, thinking outside the box and refusing to believe that something can’t be done. Which pretty much sums him up perfectly.

Amy Munday – Sales

G’day! Amy Munday brings warmth, honesty and over 15 years of sales experience to Sunstopper Blinds Dubbo. Before joining the team, she spent more than a decade in automotive parts sales and four years in store management, so she’s no stranger to helping people find exactly what they need. She’s the kind of person who remembers the small details, asks the right questions and makes every customer feel welcome.

Outside the showroom, Amy’s world revolves around her partner and kids. When she’s not with them, you’ll probably find her at the soccer fields either playing, cheering or volunteering on her club’s committee. She’s passionate about community and even more passionate about making sure everyone feels included.

Amy was born on 13th August, right in the heart of Leo season which suits her perfectly because she leads with warmth, loyalty and that easy going confidence everyone loves. Her favourite saying “progress, not perfection” is exactly how she approaches life and work with patience, heart and a smile.
